The Carnivorous Desert Type

The Carnivorous type eat other animals. There are carnivores that eat herbivores and they are called secondary consumers. The carnivores that eat other carnivores are called tertiary consumers. Examples of tertiary consumers in the desert are hyenas, lions, vultures, and eagles. They eat animals that eat other animals that eat plants, making them a tertiary consumer. On the other hand, the secondary consumers are serval, caracalls, hyenas, cheetahs, vultures, lions, and eagles. This means that hyenas, lions, vultures, and eagles are both secondary consumers and tertiary consumers. They eat both animals that eat other animals and animals that eat plants.
